Monitoring during construction is the most appropriate technique to fulfill cultural resource requirements for particular projects. This is true whether ground disturbance is restricted or when the site is substantially developed, or when there are local cultural resources. We collaborate closely with contractors to ensure that construction activities are not disrupted.
During work activities, an archaeologist is present to observe or carefully examine excavations for cultural items. If the excavation comes across a cultural feature, the archaeologist will briefly cease work to inspect and record it using his/her equipments. If significant subsurface cultural deposits are discovered, excavation and recording by a larger team of archaeologists may be delayed. After monitoring is done, a final report will be prepared from our team.
